I am a rising fourth-year medical student at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, with a strong interest in Diagnostic Radiology and the intersection of art and medicine. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I started Puerto Rico from Above, a personal project that captures aerial photography of the island’s natural beauty and cultural life. I also play the cuatro puertorriqueño, a traditional string instrument that helps me stay connected to my heritage.
I am one of the leaders of the Visual Arts Subgroup within the Arts and Humanities Special Interest Committee of the Association of Academic Radiology (AAR), where I help promote creativity and the role of the humanities within the radiology community. I am also active in the ACR and RSNA, and have presented radiology-related research at national conferences. I’ve authored articles for the American College of Radiology (ACR) and am a proud member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. I am passionate about integrating the visual arts into medical education and look forward to connecting with others who value creativity, innovation, and humanism in healthcare.
Examples of my Hobby:
I included a file with some of my favorite pictures with a brief description of them. There is also a separate file containing each image individually. I included below the link to my youtube channel where I’ve shared videos about Puerto Rico from Above.
