Mother, MSK Radiologist, Artist and Physician Life Coach , Marlena Jbara MD is a lifelong learner and remains a student at heart. Graduating from Brooklyn College & SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn’s BA-MD Program, she received expert level fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology under Javier Beltran MD, one of the Worlds’ Leading Biomechanical Experts. Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2001, Marlena Jbara, MD served Academic Radiology for nearly two decades, training many of our finest physicians today. After completing a tour of duty on the front lines during the COVID crisis, she is now serving many patient communities through her role as an expert MSK Radiologist with SimonMed Imaging. Dr. Jbara has been an innovator in designing and implementing continuing medical education programs dedicated to impacting the care of our patients with Diabetes. Through her lifelong educational work, podiatrists, foot and ankle surgeons and residents in radiology, podiatry, orthopedics, and emergency medicine can understand and utilize imaging to help their patients heal.
Currently her educational interests in MSK Radiology are now on a Global level serving as Faculty for Agten Radiology, a company dedicated to helping MSK radiologists render effective, accurate, evidence based reporting. The environment mirrors a training fellowship program and promotes community and collaboration through biweekly virtual meetings where case discussions backed by journal evidence is discussed in an open forum. In addition to cutting edge and community MSK imaging, topics such as work-life balance, physician distress, dealing with medical errors and topics in humanism are regularly discussed, coached and shared.
In addition to her active Radiologist practice, the most enlivening part of her career includes synergizing resources to Help heal our Healers within the Current epidemic of Physician Distress. As Co-Founder of GrooveMDs.com, her team is dedicated to Ending Physician Burnout. Through raising awareness and practicing healing through Arts, Community and Coaching, it is her aim to empower Physicians. To advance these efforts of GrooveMDs, she is currently serving on the American College of Radiology Arts Task Force dedicated to physician wellness, highlighting Art as a source of our Physician Wellness.
